The Castle of Castiglione Falletto

The castle was built by Berthold Falletti of Alba who received it as part of a large landed estate from the Marquis of Saluzzo in exchange for various services rendered. I Falletti, who were its owners since the late seventeenth century, wanted to add their name to the town. After the Falletti succeeded several families, among which the Caramelli and the Clarotti, and then, in the second half of the eighteenth century, Joseph Cerutti, Arcadian poet, and lastly the Vassallo of Dogliani, who in the mid-nineteenth century completed several masonry works as well as restructured its fortresses, bringing them back to their former splendor as noble residences.
Today it continues to be privately owned and, although modifications have been made, its essential features, such as its lateral towers and central keep, have been preserved.
