The Parish Church of San Lorenzo

The Parish’s devotional nucleus was developed around a chapel (no longer extant) placed near the village and, according to sixteenth-century parish records, dedicated to San Lorenzo. The castle was equipped with a chapel known as St. Mary in Castrum, which was then in use by the community as a new parish. This church, built in Romanesque style and replete with neo-Gothic lines and decorated interior by the Alba painters the Finati brothers, was restored in 1893. In the side alter of St. Andrew there is a well-conserved altarpiece attributed to the eighteenth-century painter from Bra Peter Paul Operti depicting the Immaculate Conception, S. Andrew and S. Francis.
